No one is forming a religion around Jr like they do with his father. If I had to bet on another Trump, it's definitely Ivanka, but doubt that possibility as well.
I didn’t say I feared it. I just said that’s what’s going to happen. No matter who wins in November, Junior will be out the pushing Trumpublicanism in the hopes of being the candidate in ‘24. And let him, I say. As you said, he’s generic Trump. All he does is parrot his dad’s gobbledegook and lies. He can’t command the loyalty his dad somehow does, tho

None of Trump's children are even remotely as charismatic as the Donald.

maybe the pollsters didn't clarify the context and 80% of americans think everything's really cool and like far out, man right now?

Once the insta culture surrounding these protests wears off we'll see where all this abolish the cops rhetoric goes I guess.

People said this about "Abolish ICE." The left isn't very good at marketing, but luckily it has ADD so this won't be a slogan for too long.

Sure man!
Do the pacific islanders have some stories to share with us? That seems steep. And look at how low the starting point was for the black community. SAD!

did they poll the same 6,000 people before and after?

or 6,00 different people, but at the same proportions by ethnicity?

maybe the AAPI denominator changed between poll 1 and poll 2, significantly

I think the liberals need to quickly clarify and make very clear what is meant by "defunding" the police. I think the confusion around this plays straight into Trump's hands as he will for sure use the confusion to spread "the Dems want lawlessness and I'm the law and order president" BS. Let's be honest, most voters are swayed by catch phrases and basic terms. Very few voters are into the real specifics of policy.

Additionally, the protests turning peaceful has probably played to Trump as well. See how he dominated the streets! He's going to claim responsibility for sure.

It's tough when everything good that happens is because of him, yet anything negative or bad it's "NONONONONO!" Trump baby time.

This is what it looks like when skepticism and political self-doubt are a principle force in informing your interpretation of events.

Yeah, I remember when that phrase was sure to doom the Democrats in 2018.

The only people that seem to care are Donald Trump, who thirstily needs something to hang on while his poll numbers fall, and pundits, who so thirstily need this to be a contest to the wire. I doubt many other people are going to care.

National Bureau of Economic Research, which is the arbiter of recessions, says the U.S. entered a recession in February.
Does this info get through? Does it have any impact on those who still support Trump based on the economy?

I doubt it matters; I think most people would assume that a recession was unavoidable. But (and this is just my opinion), I think elections are not as centrally focused on the economy as is conventionally believed, anyway, and I think that's especially true for Trump.

This is my feeling as well. But I'm no expert on the economy and I'm seeing so many different things from experts on voting/polling/etc that I thought I'd bring it up here and see what others thought.

What makes you think that?
