We can cower in our shelters with our masks and sani waiting six, twelve, eighteen, or twenty-four months for a vaccine to come along...or we can sack up, live our lives, and build our herd immunity. Be the change!

Maybe. But part of me feels like we’re tempting fate here and in 6 months we’ll all literally be cowering in our shelters when a more powerful wave hits us. I’m in one of the last two states to begin opening - CT. Im going back to work on Thursday. And I’m ok with it. As long as people stay aware, I do think we need to find a balance. But I also know, as I’m sure we all do, that when it’s time to take it really seriously again before the second wave, we won’t. We’ll drag our feet again, pretend it’s not really gonna happen, and there we go again.

Our town had 84 new cases since yesterday. That was a huge increase.

Gyms reopened. All restaurants are back open. And people are actually wondering why our numbers are climbing. Fucking idiots.

Has there been an increase of supplies and beds? Are you prepared for the 2nd wave?

I'm not saying that opening up fully right now is good, or something I agree with myself. But I live 90 min from NYC, and around here people have been told for 2-3 weeks that the numbers keep getting better, and the attitude has changed. Traffic is back to annoying levels, people aren't staying home anymore. My fear is that the summer won't actually be as bad as we think, which will make it seem like the "lockdown side" was wrong. And then when it does come roaring back in Oct or so, the lesson will have been lost.

Beds never really maxed out for most and I don't think ventilators ran out, but the supply side is still a mess in terms of PPE because we don't make shit in this country and have idiots in charge.

Another day of 0 new cases, but it sounds like they're opening up bars this weekend so there might be a new spike coming. I think that's like maybe 3 new cases over the last two weeks or something

8 new cases for us.

Kids go back to school full time from Monday. I do think this is a week early as they only returned for 1 day a week last week and it has yet to be 2 weeks since relaxing rules on Mother's Day. It just seems a tad early but only a week.

Our kids went back to school/kindy this week full time. The house has felt so empty. I'd say that I've been able to get a lot of work done while they've been gone, but we're between releases and we've got nothing to work on that the moment, so I've been trying to upskill some

We've (Western Australia) had 6 new cases since 1st of May, none for the past 4 days or so. We are in the process of re-opening now. I think a national "don't forget the importance of continued social distancing" campaign would be a good refresher right about now.

I notice that so often the people crap at social distancing are the 60 plus brigade.

They did not, in fact NYC was sending them out to other areas a month ago.

That in no way means we are able to reopen states to the level that they are now. They should have waited until June as Memorial Day is going to get a new meaning.

CT has actually hit all the metrics to re-open so opening seems justified assuming those metrics are sound. Besides Lamont is like Piglet from Winnie the Pooh he'll shut it all down the minute the wind blows.
