Leaving aside, of course, the fact that a GOP-held Senate could (and will) open an impeachment investigation on their own, using Biden's clear history of corruption as an election tool to attack Dems in red districts in 2022, do you guys really not think the GOP is going to take back the house after two years of Joe Biden as president? Come on.

But I've come around to the idea of Warren as VP.
To be clear, again, Abrams is not my first choice for the job. My goal here was not to argue in favor of her being the nominee but rather to better understand why some are so against it. I do like her. I agree she's still green. But I think her strengths largely overcome her deficiencies and I don't think it'll be the end of the world if she's picked.

For example, I would be more excited by an Abrams pick than a Harris pick. Which is not to say that I dislike Harris. But she has the vaunted experience people are talking about and I still think there are bigger red flags there in spite of that experience.

It’s the House’s responsibility to impeach, not the Senate though. And no, I think the stench of Trump and the disarray his defeat will leave the GOP in isn’t going to put them in any sort of position to take the house back in 2022. The senate can investigate all it wants, but it isn’t going to lead to impeachment. Not to mention, impeachment is about a president’s actions while in office, so not sure how bringing up a thin case of supposed corruption while he was previously serving as VP could amount to much.

No, with history as a guide they probably will.

I just think overlooking her because she hasn't held a high-profile seat (like Mayor or Governor or Senate, etc) is a mistake.
I’m not talking about the profile level of the work, I’m talking about the demonstrated skill set to not only survive but thrive and make clear, quick decisions under the maniacal conditions and pressures of national leadership. We shouldn’t be picking a mayor either. Good god.
She's one of the smartest people out there. She's driven. She's competent. She listens. She's active.
She also has years left to turn a high level national profile into a demonstrated leadership brand, and skipping ahead to the biggest job in the world ain’t the way to go.
Is VP to Joe Biden the biggest job in the world?

I'm not discounting any of your arguments (the "good god" aside). This is what I wanted when I asked in the first place. Thank you for the response.
Barack Obama had clear, ambitious policy desires, and a team wonks and experts to help guide him. What he didn’t have was the history, folksy personality, and interpersonal influence to make moderate Democrats feel comfortable supporting those ambitions. Joe Biden was the perfect pick to fill those gaps. Obama had the intellect to engage experts and incorporate their recommendations, but he needed a VP who could make Dem legislators (always a nervous and risk-averse bunch) feel safe voting for the results.

President Biden is an affable, moderate-minded messenger without a lot of interest in the complex navigations of policy construction. Even setting aside Joe’s potential mortality, yes…vice president can under the right conditions be the biggest job in the world.

If we’re talking about Stacy Abrams, why not Keisha Lance Bottoms, the Mayor of Atlanta?

Stacy Abrams has far more experience in navigating government work than Donald Trump.

McP is right on point about Abrams. Maybe the world doesn't work the way it use to (Johnson helping Kennedy win in the South), but the question I ask myself about a VP nomination is does this nomination make more or less people want to vote for the head of the ticket? From what I know about independent voters, I just don't see Abrams being a draw. I'm not comfortable with someone that has such little experience potentially running out country.

I like McP's questions on what gaps does the VP fill. Biden lacks vision or a strong idea of what he wants to accomplish. Does the VP even matter when the vote comes down to Trump or Not Trump?

Edit: I went back and read and see that McP has already answered the questions I have and the ones I'm going to have

Yeah, if Biden picked a male VP at this point the election would be over because he would have eroded any trust in him after going back on an easy a promise as that.

He needs someone that is quick on her feet and ready to be president if need be and potentially strong enough to run in 2024. I have no idea who that is. It probably can’t be Klobuchar or Harris because of their backgrounds and records as prosecutors. Other than that, I am glad to not have to make that decision.
