i love how some people are now clamoring to trade justin verlander. these were the same people 2 years ago bitching that they absolutely needed to re-sign him because he's been the face of the franchise, and how letting him walk would dispirit the entire fanbase.

of course, but i don't think adding david price is getting them over the top is all. the way i see it, if they're not close to winning the WS with him, i would hate to see them lose prospects.

admittedly, not many.

this is always my dilemma with prospects. you want them to stock your farm system so you can one day use them to acquire talent, but you're too afraid to flip them because you're scared that they'll one day turn into a john smoltz. but yet hanging on to them and you risk them petering out with nothing in return. it's always a gamble.

The Feds have dropped their investigation into Barry Bonds. He was appealing an obsturction conviction. That charge was overturned in April and the Feds said they would not pursue the case further.
