A white equivalent of a Hotep would be dabbling with white supremacy. Not as in, lets go lynch some darkies, but very strange beliefs about the supposed spiritual aspect of race.

Promoted randomly assaulting white people on social media, among other unsavory stuff.

Doesn't mean it was a racially motivated attack. He drove for half a mile through the crowd, so attempts to minimize it as an accident at this point are weird.

just saw a fundraiser link on a relative's social media. his former student, a young girl, was in a dance group marching.

she's in ICU after losing a kidney, damage to liver and lungs, broken pelvis, and tachycardia. oxygen and blood tranfusions keeping her going atm.

There aren't a ton of pre-canned narratives you can tie this into, and it might hurt criminal justice reform if we spend too much time on it.

The NYT, in an article about what they know about the suspect somehow don’t know his race or have a photo of him. How can that be?

Cops are saying he said he was fleeing a domestic disturbance.

He also tried to run his wife over with a car in the past

I think you guys are probably right, but the investigation is also moving quite slowly, so not much to report. Brooks is in court this afternoon, and some kids might not make it through.

What happens with both those could amplify things, but maybe this will be the rare calamity where everyone keeps their heads on straight politically.
