So i made kind of a religious pilgrimage to skellig Michael. It’s one of the biggest puffin colonies In the world.
There’s puffins everywhere. You’re warned before you even go up the endless stairs that they nest underneath
The flagstones you walk on. So be careful in case you crush their eggs.
The puffins have no natural fear of us and just sit watching you. The vibe is definitely you’re interfering in their space.
And they will let you know.
Just with dismissive looks and standoffishness.
But they’re still friendly.

I’m baffled how they can fly with such short weird awkward wings. But they can.
No idea how they make that massive immigration every year but they manage it somehow.

Baked avocados

Leftover carnitas got tossed into scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning and there’s still so much pork left to go. Maybe I’ll slop some on top of a bowl of farro tomorrow.
