Maybe its intentional.

Or maybe Ed just uses some core themes repeatedly, when he's up amongst the waves thinking about death and trying not to get overwhelmed.

Maybe BoB just patted him on the bottom and said "why don' you go on into thayat tape clawset, honey, and write me a reeeal good victim song. Jus' like..." here he paused to stroke his hair, "like when you were young. Young, an' so so sweet. 'Kay, puddin'?"

Do we know of any bands from the last ten years that he actually listens to? I imagine there must be, but it would make that whole trend way funnier to me.

"Let the records play!"*

*Eddie Vedder does not want to hear your records.

If you look at the small print under LTRP, you'll see a dedication to Sonic Youth. It simply says "thanks for the sound experiments."

I don't think that's true.

The lower key kind of takes the wind out of it, though.

Me too!

Hopefully they'll settle into a groove with it once it's been played a few more times.

You don't think they play it too fast? That depends on whether you think it can afford to be much faster than the studio version.

I know he was into early Kings of Leon. I read somewhere that most of the stuff on "Pearl Jam" was written after Ed had spent an entire summer or year or something listening to Aha Shake Heartbreak, which is actually a good album but sounds nothing like ST.

That's pretty funny.
