I think it's the first time it's been mentioned by name.

Yeah, that's what I thought. But I'm hardly any kind of expert on this stuff.

the tesseract was first introduced in CA:TFA and Avengers

while it is called a cosmic cube it is indeed the space stone
thor 2 introduced the aether which could be the Reality
In avengers and CA:TWS Loki's staff is the mind gem (Visions gem from AoU)
GotG introduced the Power Stone

that leaves two stones, Time and Soul

One makes it's appearance in Nov in Dr strange so that leaves 1 left

But it wasn't until Guardians they actually used the term infinity stones, right?

They've been in the films but yes I think Guardians is the one that actually codified in-universe that they are Infinity Stones.

Technically Thor 1 as well since the Infinity Guantlet is shown.

for some reason i have to think the time stone is going to show up in Black Panther

the only other movies out before infinity war are

Doctor Strange
Spiderman
Thor Ragnarok
Black Panther

then infinity war

antman and wasp
captain marvel
(infinity war pII)

i cant see someone like chameleon or hammerhead having one of the gems. thor already has the one (as well as the gauntlet and the original tesseract). so time can be used to explain how Wakanda (home of the Black Panther) is so much more advanced than the rest and could explain how T'Challa is able to communicate with his ancestors while being a Black Panther (if they go that route)
