How do you guys rank Nashville? It's one of my favorites

Love it, definitely in the same ballpark as Good Dog Happy Man -- understated, organic, evocative.
Robin Holcomb's self-titled album from 1990 is one of my all-time favorite albums (Frisell plays guitar on a couple tracks), so her guest vocals on Nashville really hit the sweet spot for me.

Yeah, Nashville is pretty cool too. Very moody.
I been listening to a local masterpiece that i cant recommend enough, B.A. Jazz by the great Jorge Lopez Ruiz, recently remastered and edited in vinyl.
Its on Spotify, and for those who love a very classic jazz sound this will delight you all.
The personnel is bonkers really, Gato Barbieri, Fats Fernandez and another legends.

I do miss those times with live music in nyc...I had to work late one night when my parents were in town and I bought 4 tickets at the Iridium to see Les Paul because my dad was a huge fan..I was to obviously but it was surprise..my wife ended up taking them and our neighbor because I couldn't get away in time..Santana showed up and traded licks with him and missed the damn thing..they had fun though

holy shit
i had a coworker once who was at the comedy cellar on a random Thurs night and he said chris rock and dave chappelle walk in and just unannounced did like 45 mins of standup each ... this was a couple years into when chappelle had disappeared too ... i sat next to this coworker and he walked in the next day and would not stop talking about it and was sooooooo jealous but also was so happy for him (and dave) to experience that ...

I've told Kevin Davis this...my neighbor in NYC was a famous jazz guy..he had a studio in midtown that he kept so all his buddies could just show up and jam if they were around..horns and basses in every corner. I used to walk their dog on Wednesdays only because his wife volunteered at the natural history museum and that was his day to go to the office and jam..on his days off I would show up and we would watch Mets games on the couch and sneak in a makers mark..one day Ron Carter and Benny Golson showed up and they played in the living room while I was just sitting there..I still think about that day and it was probably 22 years ago..the mets lost

Living vicariously through Doug's jazz stories is one of my favorite RM pastimes.
