A glorious sunny day here, and it always blows my mind to be on the mountain overlooking the harbour and our downtown. Next up, downstairs for another half mile in the pool. Then bbq steaks and the Bruins game.
I wish i had a pool available to do laps in, i used to do that quite a bit back in the day, such a good full body workout.
Mine's only 40' long. It is a pain in the ass counting up to 140 lengths to be a mile. In the summer there's an outdoor pool that's 135 metres (nearly 500 feet), 11 lengths and you've done more than a mile. Looking forward to that.
Yeah, 140 lengths would suck  though i don't think i ever got close to a mile, and I've always been bad at freeystyle because my kick is wrong and i can't correct it, so i always do the breast stroke when i do laps and Im pretty slow with it.

Guys, the New Balance MRC1600s are the best pair of running shoes I have ever owned and that pains me to say because I'm really a trail guy and these are road shoes. If you're looking to dabble in minimalist shoes and primarily run roads, you need these. Yes, they are over $100, but they are worth it. Only 6 motherfucking ounces.

10 miles in 74 minutes

I put Irish trad on the Sansa and as expected it makes for terrible running music. Still, I cruised the entire way. Even split with no finishing kick. Another easy day on the canals.

How many days a week do you run? Now that im over 2 miles on each run i don't feel like i can run back to back nights, my knees and shins usually hurt a bit too much, so i try to go every other do usually, though i skipped tonight because i put some grass seed down on the front yard after work.

The last few weeks just 30 to 40 miles a week. But I'll probably pick it up to about 60 next week as I'm looking to go rim-to-rim-to-rim at the Grand Canyon at the end of April. I'm generally a low-mileage guy.
I would advise you to do an occasional back-to-back, it's a great way to build endurance and mental toughness.

Do you have any leg issues? Im wondering if icing a bit after might get me feeling up to back to back nights

Yes, ice and a big ass glass of chocolate milk is a good idea. I'm lucky, I have no leg/knee issues.

I can't remember if I've asked before, but why the chocolate milk? To me after a run it would seem like the farthest thing from my mind, but possibly after my shower and I've cooled down

Chocolate milk is the perfect recovery drink. Carbohydrates. Protein. Calcium. A little sodium and sugar. Plus it's got a lot of good old-fashioned water in it.
