Amani Toomer vs. Amari Cooper in Atari Q*bert
who wins
who wins
This is insane. White had one good year in college. When he has been on the field in the NFL he seems to lack burst and he's clearly injury prone.Kaius wrote:I would take Kevin White over Amari Cooper. I just think he's a more special talent. Alas, he hasn't been able to stay on the field.
Amari Cooper is a few drops away from being one of the absolute best receivers in the league dude.Kaius wrote:I would take Kevin White over Amari Cooper. I just think he's a more special talent. Alas, he hasn't been able to stay on the field.

Agree with all this. I prefer those 5'11-6'1" guys whose game is all agility and burst to the big Megatron types and I think a lot of people in the NFL are starting to as well. Give me AB, Cooper, Doug Baldwin and those guys any day, they're awesome to watch.Electromatic wrote:Kaius wrote:I would take Kevin White over Amari Cooper. I just think he's a more special talent. I don't know. Amari Cooper is up there with the best WR's technically I've ever seen. He's similar to AJ Green to me technically and athletically perhaps not as fast. Amazing body control, good hands, great routes. Athletically, Julio Jones and Calvin Johnson are ridiculous athletic freaks but I feel like in some ways at Alabama anyway Cooper was actually a more efficient receiver than Jones.
why does physicality and ball skills automatically provide a higher ceiling over other skills wr's might have i.e. speed, route running etc...?Kaius wrote:I wasn't knocking Cooper. I said he's a better player currently. I think White has a higher ceiling based on his physicality and ball skills. That doesn't mean Coopwr isn't really good.
I agree, because we've seen the fascination with the running back position dramatically change, too. I understand that's also in part to rules changes that make for a passing friendly league, but everything is cyclical.Orpheus wrote:Because people are so obsessed with finding the next Randy Moss/Megatron that they let guys like Baldwin and AB go unnoticed. The fixation on size is one of the dumber things that NFL front offices cater to. And it's not just WR's. Aaron Donald should have been a top 3 pick, as should've Russel Wilson. I think it's starting to change though.

It doesn't? I'm not declaring this a rule across the board. I'm saying that I really like what I've seen out of K. White specifically. You guys are the ones making assumptions. White has speed as well. He ran a limited route tree in college, but I'm taking that with a grain of salt since it was college. He then had been plagued by freak injuries and was drafted into a team that is much worse condition than Oakland.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:why does physicality and ball skills automatically provide a higher ceiling over other skills wr's might have i.e. speed, route running etc...?Kaius wrote:I wasn't knocking Cooper. White doesn't remind me of either of those guys. You're the first person I've ever read make that comparison. If he reminds me of anyone it is Larry Fitzgerald or Anquan Boldin. Besides, teams miss on high draft picks all the time, that doesn't mean they should stop trying to hit home runs. Why wouldn't they try to find the next Moss? You're denying game evidence and attributes with the argument that everyone should know when the next undrafted or 6th rounder is going to turn into Antonio fucking Brown. What would Megatron have done in his career if he would have been drafted in Pittsburgh and played with Big Ben for 10Orpheus wrote:Because people are so obsessed with finding the next Randy Moss/Megatron that they let guys like Baldwin and AB go unnoticed.
