My guess would've been the old Synergy board, but 5H is probably just as likely. The term dates back pretty far, I think.

I remember people saying it circa 1998 in ampjam and the aol pearl jam chatroom.

Yeah, I remember it being used in the AOL chat room around then as well. It was used frequently enough that I assumed people on the internet had been using it for quite some time at that point.

I do think it's pretty funny how Pearl Jam can lean so heavily on their reputation as a band that eschews traditional promotion and is always on the road when neither has been true for a good few years now.

Have Pearl Jam really not done a music video for fifteen years? Didn't they do one for "Life Wasted?" And "Amongst the Waves?"

didn't they license Yellow Ledbetter to be used in "Friends"? They've been at this for a while now. As well as that "Cold Case' episode where they used all PJ songs a few years ago
