For a band that have tried so hard to play up their love of vinyl, it's weird that they make so little effort to put out high quality vinyl releases; none of their vinyl masterings are reportedly anything special, they're pretty much the CD master on a different format. Other bands (even their contemporaries like Soundgarden, Nirvana, etc.) manage to release stuff that's generally well regarded from an audiophile perspective, I don't know why these guys have so much trouble.

I think part of the problem is the band's insistence on managing all of these things themselves, they don't seem to license out their tapes for other companies to produce reissues, etc.

The Vault releases are the rare exception for PJ vinyl.

Agree 1,000% on the guitar fill in Parachutes. Terrible decision there. Just listened to Big Wave and, my word, it sure gets awfully busy from the solo on. Come Back is so, so bad on this mix. The snare in the intro just boggles my mind. My general feeling while listening to the new mix is that he’s doing it in real time. Some of the choices seem like a “what if I do this?” and even though they sound awful, made the final cut. Please keep him far away from the next record.

this remix really does sound awful. boy am i glad i didn't buy the vinyl. i'd buy a vinyl version of that other spotify remaster in a second, though. shoulda pressed that one.

This is disappointing - I was hoping that this was their moment to redeem the issues with ST. Glad I got this feedback before I bought the vinyl

Can you believe this is the same guy that produced Vs through Yield? Me neither.

S/T Was the FIRST CD I've eher bought with my own money, and it still have a good place in my memory as something special. And it is IMO the last PJ record that EV sounded actually good.
Seen this mix, makes me so mad.
