As I said when I posted it, this article is mostly delusional bullshit from people with holes in their brains. At the same time, if it's true that Trump voters are purposefully skewing polls, that might be interesting to keep in mind down the line, as, for instance, in Wisconsin, where Biden's average polling lead is smaller than Clinton's was on the eve of the election. As digster noted, independents aren't breaking for Trump the same way this year, at least not yet, and this whole thing is predicated on not having a financial meltdown in October which looks... pretty fucking likely. So maybe it doesn't matter! On the other hand if in late October Wisconsin is still *very* close, and ditto other rust belt states, then maybe we shouldn't be surprised if the national polls are off of the final result. That's why I posted it.

I know, I've seen it too, my point was to contrast the protesters going without masks because they didn't have one or any number of reasons, as opposed to not wearing a mask because they oppose masks as a violation of their rights as an american.

I just think that if people believe the cause is important enough to justify the sickness and death that will inevitably follow the protests, we should just say that instead of pretending that the pandemic has decided to make an exception for protests. (But not all protests!! Only the right kind.)

Yes absolutely the rationale behind the stay at home order protests was idiotic and the BLM protests aren’t. I just want people to be clear that yes, there will probably be a significant increase in covid cases stemming from them. Pretending otherwise doesn’t help anyone.

To represent the key difference in my mind (to therefore "rage on and on about") that being without a mask will be celebrated and possibly even a focus for some in attendance, namely, the president himself. Which was better expressed in this post:

I feel like, for a lack of a direct quote, this is basically what people have been saying (including what you wrote in parenthesis).

My point is that when you see someone close to other people and not wearing a mask or any protection at all, knowing everything we know now, you should see that person for what they are - either an asshole or a moron
