Bong Joon-Ho and David Lowery are good picks. I haven't seen anything by the Safdie brothers or Reichardt. PT Anderson is one of those guys that... I almost always love his work but I just don't necessarily look forward to new stuff. I'm not sure why that is. I always just feel like, oh he has a new movie, I guess I'll see it one of these days, oh well...

But he's consistently great.

I feel like you would love Kelly Reichardt.

First Cow is my favourite of hers that I've seen.

Wendy & Lucy, Certain Women...I'd be surprised if you didn't like these movies.

Also American Honey was pretty incredible. I’ve not seen any of Arnold’s other stuff but I can’t wait for her next one. Ditto Sean Baker/The Florida Project.
Both Red Road and Fish Tank are amazing. Havent seent Wuthering Heights. American Honey was really good but kinda faded with time.

And Sean Baker is also fucking good...im dying to see Red Rocket this december.

I don't know who three (four including the married couple) of these people are, so I've got some homework to do.

I think it was about 30 mins too long, and it's not so much that the story has stuck with; just the realness of it all. She made me feel like a fly on the wall of a weird subculture. And Shia was incredible.
Shia was really good. Riley Keough too.

ugh, stfu Ridley Scott. Maybe no one went to see your OK-not-great movie because we could tell you were trying really hard to teach us something.
The Hollywood Reporter
Scott’s explanation for the horrible box office performance of The Last Duel? Apathetic millennials.

“I think what it boils down to — what we’ve got today [are] the audiences who were brought up on these fucking cellphones. The millennian [sic] do not ever want to be taught anything unless you’re told it on a cellphone,” Scott said.

“This is a broad stroke, but I think we’re dealing with it right now with Facebook,” Scott added. “This is a misdirection that has happened where it’s given the wrong kind of confidence to this latest generation, I think.”
