My car is paid off in January (when they mail me the title), so probably both at the same time.

Since when do you have to show ID to apply for a job? You have to show ID if you GET a job, but that's not the same at all.

Don't know about holding a rally, that seems out of left field.

Blood donations don't require money so that's your 1%.
It's not hard to get ID (regardless of what democrats claim.) Why would you have to show ID to apply for a job? Who gives a shit when you have to have ID if you are hired anyway?

It's utterly insane that the Democrats fight against basic voter ID. Even fucking Canada requires it. CANADA!
The thing is, these laws aren't proposed in order to have voting rules become more uniform with all the things you listed in your facebook gif or to become more uniform with all the countries that have requirements for voting IDs. they're by and large proposed in order to help ensure specific groups of people do NOT vote and give political parties an advantage in upcoming elections.
that's hardly democratic, and no better than gerrymandering.
why does that not enter into your argument?
- I don't think it's a given that people who are pro-voter ID are trying to keep democrat voters down.
- I don't think there are many people who can't manage to get an ID who are dying to vote, or that they would vote democrat if they did.
- Seems like it would be a lot more sensible to work on getting people IDs than trying to prevent common sense voter ID requirements.

there are much bigger problems. Most of this is partisan politics. It's a ridiculous hill for Democrats to die on, though.
I think it's odd that you keep emphasizing democrats democrats democrats all over the place. I didn't specify a party intentionally, and i don't necessarily accept that just because this is your opinion, it's accurate. You're not an authority on who wants to vote, nor on how difficult or easy it is to obtain id in any given area of the country, yet this is basically how you position your argument/opinions here because, why? It adds weight or a sense of validity to what you're saying?

And i got a newsflash for you, but go look it up if you're so inclined, republican candidates actually do better when fewer people do vote. there isn't a politician out there, of any party, who would deny it. And I'm willing to guess they actively seek out ways to use that fact in order to maintain or gain control of an election.

Also, I'm frankly baffled why it's become so important to have an id now? srsly, now? I mean if the actual reason for instituting voter id laws is to combat fraudulent voting, which is apparently running rampant, what the hell has the country been doing without voter id laws for the last, oh, 240 or so years? Good god, we've been duped for centuries!

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with wanting to increase the power the republican party has over the country, now that an idiot is in control of the administration, if you want to classify it as control.

Fuck, i am only disgusted by the ignorance that's pushed onto the american public, the transparent lies fed to americans, and how readily people gobble it all up.

I long to rot in my utopia of maximized freedom and prosperity and small, common sense government regulations and border controls.

A person could lie about their identity to vote in place of another person.

Why do you all think that so many other advanced democracies have voter ID laws? Surely they aren't all trying to suppress turnout?
