Probably because this isn't anywhere near as big of an event as when Empire came out

Empire wasn't big upon release at all. Only a 70mm release initially to prevent bootlegging of the 35mm print.

And empire wasn't nearly as well received or loved as Star Wars. It still did amazing money and took the number 2 all time spot before long but fans pretty much disdained it. It had no ending. Is han dead or alive? Yoda was best received of the entire film it seems.

Yeah, but back then a movie like that was an event. Now it's just another special effects blockbuster

I'm biased but I think Star Wars is still the one player in the cinematic field that when it comes On to play, everyone notices it.

He said that with the caveat that if you don't want anything spoiled.

It does suggest we're gonna see a lot in the trailer. Luke wielding a lightsaber? Snoke in the flesh? Force ghost Yoda or Anakin? Luke and Leia reuninion?

Tickets for the midnight screening opening night go on sale at 7am tomorrow.

I can't stay up til 4am to see the trailer. I'm not gonna see this til tomorrow :(
