I was listening to the 2013 San Diego show yesterday and quite enjoyed Setting Forth as an intro of sorts for Swallowed Whole. Ed butchers the SW lyrics horrifically, but theoretically it was a pretty great little pairing.

Why did Mike and Jeff stop using harmonic notes? What was the most recent song that featured them? Are there any songs after the Ten sessions that have them?

Yessss. Is that the last one? Why abandon such a beautiful sound? I remember a podcast where the bass player for The War On Drugs was being interviewed about Pearl Jam and he said something about how harmonic bass notes were starting to be considered lame by bass players sometime around the mid or late 90’s. He laughed at that and said something like, its silly to limit your playing options but that there was a consensus among bass players at the time that harmonics weren’t cool anymore.

"Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" is the best Alanis album and may be the most underrated album of the 90s

I don't know if I've ever listened to the whole thing, but "Joining You" is stunning and never doesn't carve me all up.

Hmm, how about: Eddie Vedder and the Earthlings live bassist (and current AC/DC touring member) Chris Cheney plays bass on it.

How about: the album art for Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie was designed by Stefan G. Bucher. That same year (1998) and for the same label (Maverick), he also designed the artwork for Candlebox’s Happy Pills. The drummer on that album? Dave Krusen.

Weird Al Yankovic’s “My Baby’s In Love with Eddie Vedder” also mentions Alanis Morissette.

Well, I don't wear Doc Martens and I don't wear flannel
And I don't boycott the music video channel
And I just can't compete with all that money and fame
But I know two can play at this kinda game
Yeah, well, let's just see how jealous she'll get
When I start stalking Alanis Morissette
Well, my baby's in love with Eddie Vedder
She's all crazy 'bout that Eddie Vedder
