There are rumors kicking around that New York may end up hearing a case on the 14th Amendment soon as well.

Mein kampf?
The one truthful thing he’s ever said. He never read that book.
He’s never read a book in his entire life.
Can’t get him on reading that one.
This is YUGE news considering New York is such a predominantly red voting state in presidential electionsliebzz wrote:There are rumors kicking around that New York may end up hearing a case on the 14th Amendment soon as well.
Fair, though Trump tends to lose his cool any time something negative happens to him in New York. He has it in his mind that he’s a tried and true New Yorker and it sticks in his craw anytime he’s rejected by the establishment here because despite his wealth and business he has never garnered respect in New York - the established wealth always treating him like the court jester of rich folk.Bammer wrote:This is YUGE news considering New York is such a predominantly red voting state in presidential electionsliebzz wrote:There are rumors kicking around that New York may end up hearing a case on the 14th Amendment soon as well.
Ruddo also had this mistaken point of view, but he was much less of a smug dick about it.Bammer wrote:This is YUGE news considering New York is such a predominantly red voting state in presidential electionsliebzz wrote:There are rumors kicking around that New York may end up hearing a case on the 14th Amendment soon as well.

Is there even such a thing?Bi_3 wrote:Has there been anyone from Jan.06 actually charged with insurrection?
I think so:B wrote:Is there even such a thing?Bi_3 wrote:Has there been anyone from Jan.06 actually charged with insurrection?
The stage is set for an “epic constitutional showdown,” said Michael Waldman, president of the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law. “This puts more pressure on the Supreme Court to act and make a decision. There’s a real need for national clarity on this.”
[...]
“It’s a legal and political thicket that the Supreme Court is going to be dragged into here,” Colorado Republican Party Chairman Dave Williams said. “We can’t have them kicking it back to the courts and re-adjudicating this. Hopefully cooler heads would prevail. We can’t have an outcome that allows other states to remove the leading Republican contender from the ballot.”
Waldman said he expects the justices to decide not whether Trump engaged in insurrection, but who has the authority to decide whether such an act bars him from holding office in the future, potentially throwing those decisions back in the hands of state courts and election officials.
