keys as in the sound of his jingling as he wonders why he's locked out of the studio
I still want to know what went on here, it seems as though nobody is very willing to talk about it from the interviews so far. Who knows, maybe things did get strained on a personal level and it would be a bummer to go over that old ground.
The way Josh tells it he was working on demos and they became the record, but that doesn't appear to be the whole story.

COuld be. Seems like the fans (us, me) have concocted some weird dramatic story that went down.
perhaps its just not that exciting. perhaps they just decided to go at their own pace, and as john tells is, next thing they knew they had a record.
Ed mentioned that back in the fall is when they decided to finally put a time frame on it, which was the most stressful part.

Jeff's complaining about BoB when referencing Pendulum and how Brendan's approach wouldn't have allowed him to create it so it's lucky he did it atnhome is my biggest window into why I've "concocted" this theory.

I think the fact that recently it came to light that BOB is considered Vicki Cornell's 'trusted producer' does not bode well for him in the power rankings either
I feel like they gave him the boot after it became clear that Can't Deny Me sucked ass and everyone hated it. But still used stuff from BOB sessions

i thought this esp at the end for a sec and then realized this is Matt in early hard SG mode
he's pulling out tricks that he doesn't ever use with PJ in this one
hard fast and deliberately hitting 'between the notes'

this song is just
totally different level
have to go back really far to find a better PJ track in this vein. this is on par with rockers on Vs. and Vitalogy. and probably better than some
there are parts at the end that just sound like a live PJ show
they totally shed their shit-in-the-studio problem
the first two tracks step up a notch to DOTC and then this one just steps up a whole other notch
what other Ament tracks have we missed out on?!? thank god he held onto this

'Go' is probably the only other PJ song that could keep step with this in bare-knuckle brawl
