I love when Ed hits that first “soon” and I expect it to settle back down into a LB schlock chorus, but instead it stretches out and starts a new direction for the song.

I agree, after taking a break this is the one I keep coming back to. The second half of the song is something slse.

Love this song but won't say it's far and away the best because there are so many great songs here (Quick Escape, DotC, WES, TTLW, CTG are all top shelf, 5 star songs). It is surely one of the best. I honestly don't know which one to pick as my favourite now; earlier it was Quick Escape. Now, plenty of songs have risen in my estimation and it's very hazy. Seven O' Clock is one of them. The ones that I rank just a tad below these are Alright, River Cross & Buckle Up (4.5 stars) while Never Destination, SBWM & Retrograde are the weakest (3-4 stars so still good-very good songs).

I guess this and the outro of Retrograde would be the most impressive, technically. Aesthetically, there are so many good vocal moments on this record like for example the outro of DotC, the breakdown in the middle of WES, the ending of TTLW, etc. His phrasing and choice of melody is really, really good on almost every song.

I think this one has jumped over Quick Escape for #2 on the album for me behind Dance...all 3 are full on 5 star songs for me though.

Yeah, I'll concur with the others here. This went from "okay" to "pretty good" to one of the album highlights for me.

Yes and yes! Love the heee, heee. A litttle Into the Wild vocalization never bothered me.
This is the pinnacle of the Gigaton. This one will last. It's moved to the top spot for me and as you all know, that is really something because this album is so strong.

Last week this one leap frogged Quick Escape for my #2 Gigaton song behind Dance.....this week i might be ready to say its my favorite song on the album. Or certainly the one that i find myself most drawn to right now. Love it so much.
