They're citing relief benefits, but still calling them "stimulus" checks. That minor nitpick out of the way ...

How much more joy would there have been if he'd given us the promised $2000.00?

Was there ever a promise of an additional 2000?

I always thought the promise was an extra 600 to bring the total to 2000.

I'd be surprised if there is a quote from Biden that is clearly a promise of $2000 extra, but sure, some Democrats endorsed $2000 checks. And, as we all know, Biden is a puppet of the Squad, so if AOC or Omar said it, it was a promise from Joe Biden.

All the businesses that couldn't get their underpaid employees back don't agree with you.

To be fair, a lot of the reporting on this was sloppy, and didn't do a good job of discerning if they were talking about a total of $2000 or a separate $2000 check. Maybe his team was intentionally leaving it ambigious when they were crafting the messaging?

But anyhow,
Joe Biden, January 4 2021 wrote:you can make an immediate difference in your own lives, the lives of people all across this country because their election will put an end to the block in Washington on that $2,000 stimulus check, that money that will go out the door immediately to people who are in real trouble.

Was there an intentional effort to rewrite the history of this? I'm seeing a far amount of negative press from msn on this (probably influenced by the browser I use).

I don't think it was ever made clear at the time. Some members of Congress may have been pushing for $2000, but I don't remember Biden ever saying it. It doesn't seem like something he would support, either.

And yet he said it.

We could chalk this up to a mis-statement on his part, sure. That Snopes rates it "mostly false" or whatever gives the game away.

I just read the whole snopes page (thanks for making me do that) and it lines up with my previous assumptions.

Why waste your time doing that? They use the flimsiest wedge to make their side look goo. Dude married a hooker , he's all about justifying idiocy.
