Re: RM Top 87 Artists-80 through 87 ANNOUNCED!!
It's not RM's favorite artists if one person likes a band. That's just some dude's list. I mentioned this might be the case weeks ago, no one said nothing. I announced it two days ago and yesterday, no one said nothing. It is a totally reasonable criteria. This is how it worked out

If you lower the threshold to 2 lists instead of 3 will it get us to 100?

It's a Top 87. 87 is no worse a number than 100, just less round. Free yourself from the shackles of the number system that developed around our having ten fingers. 87 can be a beautiful number if you'd just let it

Yeah but a bigger list is better regardless of how we arbitrarily value certain digits.

I'll announce 13 near misses at the end if it makes you feel better. And I already told ST I'd give him the anonymized data if he wants to play around with it. But this is officially RM's Top 87.

I agree with Argo that the selections shouldn't be weighted. I feel like you'd need a much larger participant pool for that type of weighting (1 to 20 points) not to potentially skew the results to the point of being unrepresentative.

Re: RM Top 87 Artists-75 through 87 ANNOUNCED!!
The weighting is the second-tier for ranking. First, tally. Then points.
If I give you five more, will you please get off my back?
79. Fleetwood Mac

Mick Fleetwood's boys (and girls) morphed from a respected British blues outfit into the world's biggest pop band by the 1970s.
78. Sam Cooke

A seminal influence on soul music and R&B, with an incredible natural singing voice and a smooth, effortless delivery that has never been surpassed.
77. Otis Redding

Perhaps the greatest soul singer of the '60s, the man who wrote and sang standards like "Respect" and "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay."
76. Van Halen

One of the best and most popular American hard rock/heavy metal bands, primarily distinguished by the fleet fingers of guitarist Eddie Van Halen.
75. Nick Drake

Acclaimed British singer/songwriter who produced three albums of intimate, somber beauty, gaining a cult following years after his early death.

Sam Cooke & Otis Redding making the list is cool, ranking next to each other is kind of wild
