Weird take on Boogie Nights.
I’m not as big on boogie nights as I used to be but at least that came before the two trillion other I Love the 70s/80s! movies.

I wouldn't call either a caricature, but at least the porn industry is interesting, especially at the time. I have no interest in the lives of mundane and mediocre nobodies. I have enough of that in the real world! Low art!

I also stopped caring about the lives of teenagers when I turned 20.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I'm younger than Burt and I think Licorice Pizza is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen, but maybe I'm just too advanced

Bradley Cooper was funny, though. He's the real hero of the story.

seems to me burt is lacking in empathic skills both as a viewer of cinema and in life

maybe...just maybe...he has a similar story as a youngster but never got the girl and it hurts. It just hurts so much.

Empathy is horribly overrated.

Even when viewing the film from a cold, emotionally detached perspective it really is brilliant. I really thought burt was smarter than this.

Disappointing! Sad!
