A source close to law enforcement told The Fred and Ted Show late Tuesday evening that Houston Police were contacted by the NFL after fans approached Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub at his home and berated him for his recent poor play.
No arrests were made.
“A fan went to his house and told him off,” said the source, adding that another person “took pictures of his family,” which were allegedly posted on Facebook. Fortunately, neither Schaub nor anyone in his family was hurt.
The irate fans left on their own accord before police could respond, and it’s believed Schaub and the Texans contacted NFL Security which asked for assistance from the Houston Police Department after the incident, according to the source.
Schaub has been under intense scrutiny following the team’s disastrous 2-3 start which has included the much maligned quarterback throwing a Pick-Six interception in an NFL-record four consecutive games. The Texans return home to Reliant Sunday at noon when they welcome the St. Louis Rams to town.

i didnt have time to try and figure out how many teams are currently eligible if they have to force one to do it, basically they have to be a bad team, not have a new head coach and not have done hard knocks in the last 10 years.

i didnt have time to try and figure out how many teams are currently eligible if they have to force one to do it, basically they have to be a bad team, not have a new head coach and not have done hard knocks in the last 10 years.
If this rule was in place in 2013, the teams that would have been exempt would have been:
--Playoff teams: DEN, NE, HOU, BAL, IND, CIN, ATL, SF, GB, WAS, SEA, MIN, PIT, NYG, DET, NO
--New coaches: BUF, CLE, JAX, KC, SD, PHI, CHI, ARI
--Last ten years: MIA, NYJ, DAL
So that would have meant that the only teams that could have been forced would be: TEN, OAK, CAR, TB, STL. I think it could certainly be possible, if perhaps unlikely, that all teams could end up exempt one year if there was a lot of playoff and coaching turnover.

thats what i was thinking, if they dont have a volunteer then they could be screwed
and i thought there might be like 7 or 8 teams eligible, so 5 is worse then i thought. it could get interesting

i dunno what his deal is. he got on umenyora's case a few years ago too pretty much outa nowhere. as long as he keeps playing well i dont care who he calls out. unless its peyton.

Non-contenders tend to have more competitive training camps because they have more positions that need to be replaced.

Earlier today I read about another strategy the Cowboys could have taken last weekend instead of allowing the Broncos to score a TD. After Demaryius Thomas gets that first down at the 11, someone on the Cowboys should have committed a dead ball foul that awards an automatic first down. This pushes the Broncos to a first and goal at the 5 1/2 yard line, yet the Cowboys would have two time outs and about 1:50 left on the clock. The Broncos could then only bleed the clock down to about 1:00 before being forced to score. Also, the Cowboys would then have no worries about forcing the FG, because then they'd be playing for the win instead of the tie when they got the ball back.
