Haven't had any updates from my relatives in the last few days, situation there (Kherson area) seems stable, but read on the news that food is running short in Kherson. Worried about that.

Potential disaster at Chernobyl. No power to the station to cool the spent fuel.

This could be very very bad.

We’ve got a worst case scenario plan already.
Food and fuel shortages. Rationing.
Just wonderful. Can only hope it’s not too bad over there yet.

This will affect Russians as much as anywhere else in Europe. You’d hope this will be serious enough to get Putin to snap out of it. Does he care though?

Foreign ministers of Ukraine and Russia to meet today. Russia says Ukraine have to start the negotiations by agreeing to give up Donbas and Crimea.

Putin knows he can’t win this. And no way they’ll give up those regions either.
This is gonna drag on and on

I could see them giving up Crimea, Donbas is a lot worse, and the other demands like only having very small armed forces etc, make it next to impossible to agree to.

He insists Ukraine belongs to Russia. You can expect nothing here. He’ll demand they drop their EU membership request among other things.

Just heard. The German ambassador to Russia (around97) today and he was saying the problem is there’s no politbeureau around him to remove him. There’s nobody to even say no to him never mind take him out.
Alone and paranoid and we should all be very worried he said.

I suppose everyone can lose, but this time I think Dime may be right. (Unless your angle is that Putin is nuts and doesn't care, which is how we all could lose).

We all lose either way.
