When I leave the theater, sould I respond to your post in the movies thread or should I post in Ensign's dedicated Apes thread?

If you enjoy it - Apes thread, if not - Movies thread.

Anyway, a fun and goofy comedy surrounded by such titans of cinema* feels wrong.

*I haven't seen any of those 1940's movies lmao my bad. I'm sure they're great though.

That's a neat quote and all, but I don't see how it could be applied to Dumb and Dumber. It's not profound or common -- it's just a silly goose time. And there are countless movies that are infinitely better.

But something tells me you already knew that.

I was responding to you saying it “feels wrong” to have Dumber alongside “titans of cinema.” There’s plenty of room to love “high” and “low” art (as much as I hate those terms and disagree with them fundamentally) in an equal place.

In any case, that list is simply a genuine representation of the movies I personally love and enjoy the most. I’m not taking anything else in to consideration, and honestly I don’t think anyone should when making such a list.

I think you should work on enjoying The Good, the Bad and the Ugly more than Dumb and Dumber.

Dumb and Dumber would probably make my top 25 as well if I ever bothered to make one. It's a goddamn classic.

It's been one of my favorites since I was a kid. My brother and I still quote it to this day.

I can't put Dumb and Dumber in my top 25 list! What would people think of me! I would lose prestige in the film community!

A list is posted and then we discuss it. This isn't about prestige, you colossal fucking imbecile. You absolute buffoon.

Give yourself an uppercut.

It doesn't make my list because I don't like Jim Carrey that much.
