Shouldn't the thread title be "Still listen to wax, not usin' the CD?"

It's a variation, not a direct quote.surface the north wrote:Shouldn't the thread title be "Still listen to wax, not usin' the CD?"

Re: The Vinyl Thread: Still Listen On Wax, Don't Use The CD
finally purchased a turntable a month ago. my vinyl collection is still quite slim but it will expand.
the guy who sold me the tt also showed me his records if i was interrested in buying some of them and i did buy A Hard Day's Night (American, err, Canadian mono version with the misspelled "I Cry Instead" and some instrumentals) and a mono Rubber Soul (also Canadian pressing) plus several albums you guys should know about such as "Agatha" by Nino Ferrer. I also have an original pressing of Big Brother and the Holding Company's Cheap Thrills that's fucking sick. i've installed a second set of speakers outdoors - good times.

Welcome to the world of superiour audio enjoyment!
I can't remember if you live in Mtl or Qc, but in Montreal you should check out Cheap Thrills on Metcalfe or Phonopolis on Parc.

If anyone ever comes across a nice copy of Sonic Youth's EVOL, shoot a brother a PM.

I am in total agreement that C.D.'s are obsolete. Why the hell are MP3's still the industry standard for digital? I love playlists etc. but keep all my discs for the quality. Records are the physical copy to own in my opinion. Old stuff that was hard to find is out all over again on brand new LPS, awesome victory for vinyl fans like me. I recently broke the bank for 3 Fish 1 and am on a quest for the Quiet Table next.

Speaking of breaking the bank, just bought some of the rarer Stones albums, more for complet-ism rather than content. Plus a few others on the way...
Stones - Voodoo Lounge
Stones - Bigger Bang
Springsteen - Working on a Dream
Mad Season - Reissue
Tragically Hip - Road Apples reissue

not sure if you guys care, but I'm selling a ton of crap. The top part is my old stuff, the bottom non formatted stuff is all things I added today (there a lot of repeats so bear with me). Let me know if there's anything you want and we can talk pricing, etc.
