"... It's not my plan to send you in the arms of another man. And if you choose to stay, I'll wait, I'll understand"

As in, if she stays in the arms of the aforementioned other man, he'll wait for her. He'll, like, understand, man.
If he said leave instead of stay, this explanation would suffice.

It's probably RM's fault.

I keep trying to find something to say about this album, but I'm not sure what I want to say. I guess that's not a bad thing.

Listened to LB today after a bit of a break. Infallible, Getaway, Pendulum, Yellow Moon and My Father's Son are still great. Sirens and MYM have grown on me and I liked them a lot to begin with. SW, LB, SBM are still good. LTRP is ok. FD is just tolerable. Overall, still my 4th favourite PJ album.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

Before release I said if be happy if there were 4-5 tracks that I liked. I guess I should be happy as there's probably 6-7 tolerable tracks on LB. However the whole production lets those tracks down and with 3 of their worst ever tracks, this album is firmly in the bottom two possibly last.

That said, getaway and MFS have nice energy. Inf, pend, SW and YM have moments too.

in top place as the worst ever pearl jam track is LTRP. What a turd.

In close second is Future Days. Trite and shite.

And def in the bottom five of their catalogue is the title track. Reaches so far, notice me notice me. Everyone works so so hard for nothing. It's desperation. It's what I can only imagine the late 40s early 50s dating scene is like. I fucking hate that song but there are parts that I don't mind.

Oh man, I love lightning bolt. Probably a top 5 Mike solo for me. Everything after the first verse (which does try a bit hard) is just aces

It's like a scientist took all the parts of what a PJ song could or should be and just stitched it together. Mike has moments, Stone has moments, Matt tries teally hard and Ed is fucking awful.

Disappointing.

About LB the song, I was a bit underwhelmed when I first heard the studio version. I really liked the live debut and thought this could be a great song but it only ended up good. It's not really Ed that stops it from being great though, it's the music. Sounds like there's just too much going on at times.
