When the hell does this movie come out on bluray?
Just announced the theatrical, I think it's in May. Extended will probably be November.

I haven't bought this yet since I got tired of buying regular and then special editions. Apparently the EE will be rated r

It is. I am wondering what we'd see that would push it over

Maybe there's some bloody sword-slashing or something.

Peter Jackson returning to his schlock gore roots..the big finale will be gruesome in the EE..

in Two Towers they had to digitally replace orcs heads skewered on pikes at the edges of Fangorn with something else, for certain markets and the theatrical release..

The thing with extended editions or directors cuts is that I only ever see them if I liked the movie. If the movie was bad I won't watch it again for a few scenes that aren't going to change my opinion on the movie. OUT.

I think the Lego Hobbit video game felt more realistic than this movie.

So people have seen the extended edition of this, due out next month, it's getting a theatrical release in some places. There's and extra 20 minutes footage and as usual it's sounding like its a lot better than the regular version but apparently this is the best of all the extended editions and ties a lot more into it and ties a lot of things up. Won't post any spoilers, just read a few myself but some additions sound great and help make it more faithful to the book, as is usually the case with these.

20 minutes of additional footage can't make a movie go from bad to good

You're wrong. In fact you have never been more wrong. If wrong went to 11?

You just went past that.

Sorry, but I've never seen a movie that I really didn't like at all, then see 20 minutes (or any additional) "left out" footage and said, "man, I hated that movie now I love it". Maybe it made the movie better but not from really bad to really good. And the only way it would happen with this movie is if it is 20 minutes of Evangeline Lily n*ked.

If Transformers: Age of Extinction has an extra 20 minutes I think that will push it over the 5 hour mark.
