The new album leaked...listening to it right now. Rainer Fog, the song, is pretty awesome.

Guess the new one might be the best album they did with this lineup.
Sounds pretty awesome too.

I got the vinyl on the way. The third single was so boring, tell me that one is bottom of your rankings.

ll be getting this one on vinyl too. The third single was the low part of the three for sure, but i liked it. The albums sounds way more focused than Devils... and i like the mix too. I feel they finally have the space they needed. Cantrell´s guitar work is pretty awesome.
So Far Under is so fucking badass.

After a first listen my feelings are that this one is the best, more focused, best sounding album from the new lineup.
It has all the doom and heavyness from both Black and Dinosaurs, but its better mixed, there is actually space between the instruments and the songs are not that long. Cantrell´s guitar sounds awesome and huge. Duvall´s vocals are fucking good and Sean and Mike are really tight.
It might be the first album where i didnt thought about Layne´s presence.

I am more than a little annoyed that the leak I found yesterday stalled at 98% and no one could connect to the seed. Hell, when I woke up this morning the torrent on TPB had been deleted and replaced with a new one. But then that one stalled out at 46% and wouldn't connect to any seeds.
Bah.

It's a big pet peeve of mine when I pre order an album and the vinyl doesn't arrive until days after the release. Only band I can remember who got it right for me recently was Murder By Death, who got it to me before the actual release date. They self release their stuff though.

After my first listen I gotta say that its a better record than 'Devils'. Not sure if it's better than BGWTB.
This line-up has now as many records as the first, which is kinda weird.
I would like them to do another acoustic EP.

AIC is playing a "secret" show tonight at the Crocodile. They have a pop-up AIC museum inside the Croc that started yesterday and ran through this afternoon. Tickets to tonight's show were given away along with purchase of the new album (while supplies lasted ... sold out ... I imagine pretty much immediately).
I was unable to get over there yesterday (because work) and can't get out there tonight to loiter around for an extra ticket on short notice (because kids). Dammit.
But I did get a chance to pop in this morning to see the museum. It was pretty damn cool for what it was ... a shame it was only up for a day and a half. I had to whip through there in like 10 minutes (because work) unfortunately. But I did get a shot of the "Friends don't let friends get friends haircuts" bass from MTV Unplugged which is one of my favorite AIC relics.
AIC is playing a festival in (sorta-nearby) Auburn WA tomorrow night. The venue sucks and the drive out there sucks and I'm not going. Too bad it's not a the Paramount or something. ANYWAY, there is a Layne Staley tribute (drug awareness group puts it on) at the Showbox tonight also, and the organizers are PISSED that AIC decided to play Seattle on the same night. You can imagine the many levels of pissed and for good reason, honestly. It is what it is.
I bought the new CD and spun it once so far driving around in my car. I'm not in love with it, but after a week I probably will be. We've had this crazy smoke storm around here for like a week now and the air has finally started to clear in the past 24 hours ... maybe I just wasn't in the mood for a heavy, loud, brooding AIC album today. Like I said, give me a week.

I would have killed my kids to see AIC in the Croc...bummer...Yeah, they are playing here in November in a far away venue in a very lame date with Judas Priest. But ill go anyway.
The new album is AIC at its finest. I may lack the acoustic song we are used to have though...the acoustic side of the album is weird.
