I like Romney and wish he were President-elect instead, but I'd like to imagine he's of the view that serving his country and ensuring the Trump administration is as successful as possible is preferable to petulantly throwing rocks on the sidelines.

And on whether sick and elderly people should even have access to health care (they certainly deserve to pay a great deal more for it, I guess). And on whether insurance companies should be allowed to charge women "high risk" prices because they are of child bearing age.

Here's what I know. Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He's playing the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat.

His domestic policies would lead to recession. His foreign policies would make America and the world less safe. He has neither the temperament nor the judgment to be president. And his personal qualities would mean that America would cease to be a shining city on a hill.

Even if automation wasn't choking manufacturing jobs to death, you couldn't bring them back to America.

Those jobs weren't going to Mexico because of cheap labor. They were going because of Mexico's willingness to sign an incredible number of trade agreements...all of which, on the surface, appear unfavorable to them. They have something like 40 unique trade agreements, many of which focus on making it cheap and easy for companies to export around the world. If your car is selling well in America, make it in America. If it's selling anywhere else, make it in Mexico.

Meanwhile, we are chomping at the bit to tear up an agreement that we made to keep China from dominating trade in the East, because we still think we can (and eventually will) have all the jobs, and all the trade, and that these agreements are only about getting the best deal.

America is an economic cake eater. We want to eat our piece, trade for yours without sacrifice, and somehow end up with two pieces of cake. It will be amusing to watch people get all up in arms when those countries go back to considering China's exclusivity offer.

That seems pretty sensationalized. That program has been in place for a decade. They're trying to make something out of nothing.

My pal was saying to me Trump and his administration will he kept in check by the beauracracy / heads of different departments/civil servants we call them here.
He'll want to do stuff and they'll go 'you can do this or this but you can't do that'.
