They have been coasting on the whole "it's all about the fans" thing for awhile now. And when I say "they" I mean "Tim Bierman." All of the cool, inclusive, innovative things they did for fans predate him, no?
The single coolest fan-friendly offering they could bring back would be official B-sides. This would also serve to lessen some of the Belichick-ian secrecy they've embraced over the last decade. Let the sunlight in!

I've been spending a bit of time on the 10club site. It's actually seems like a very nicely designed site. Lots of material, easy to navigate layout.
I was kinda surprised there weren't any 'join' links on their activism page though. Instead it was a bunch of press releases for shit the band is doing.

I don't know if this in the spirit of the thread and I would never air this dirty laundry during my pre 2008 fandom, but is Mike McCready just too fucking happy on stage? Like cheesy? I'm watching TB2K DVD, they are killing Corduroy, specifically Ed, Matt, and Stone. Ed's got the "life depends on this" look and Mike is just smiling, barely keeping time.

While I'm at it I'll give my take on the most oft repeated moan and groan. When Binaural came out I was underwhelmed for reasons we've all stated or understand. I saw lots of shows that tour and really thought I was seeing the band at the height of their power. I didn't expect them to be able to hang on to the ferocity, but I was NOT expecting them to become the 90's version of Tom Petty. Even though Binaural didn't hit me like the first 5, after hearing Of the Girl, Parting Ways, insignificance..... I wasn't expecting Riot Act, Fixer, Ole. My older sage rock n roll friend in college warned me that they weren't always going to make amazing records, just wasn't expecting the change in the live show. i mean Springsteen and Neil aren't watering it down.
I'm watching TB2K and I think they could still be closer to this band than they currently are.

i think Mike still being around debunks the theory that Dave A was fired because he was "too rockstar".

Seeing his smiling self behind Ed's angst on SNL in 1994, caught my attention even at a young age. I loved the way he drummed though.

This probably belongs in the "Admit Something" thread, but I just sent a short email to 10C explaining why I rejoined (the 1998 Australian tour videos) and also letting them know how much I appreciated the Constitution Hall 1998 release. As if that wasn't enough, while browsing the new 10C page, I also saw this and thought it looked kind of okay:
I...have nothing to bitch about. God, this is awful.

No, thankfully, but it does come in a fetching range of colours.
