Got tickets to Jim James solo acoustic at the Capitol Theater in Portchester NY in mid- November. This ought to be interesting.
Yeah, they do. If anything, their mix even allows each instrument room to breath.tragabigzanda wrote:does Spoon sound just like their records live? it's a very composed sound, those albumsMonkey_Driven wrote:Both bands were good! The wife and I had a good time.
Spoon is awesome live, but the last time I saw them was probably 10 years ago. I'd be curious to see how they are now. I used to see them all the time in a bar in Memphis when I lived there almost 20 years ago.tragabigzanda wrote:Monkey_Driven wrote:Yeah, they do. that's a great description of them. i've always enjoyed how loose they sound, but they're songs are so f'ing locked in. i love their swagger.Strat wrote:They are fantastic live. They have this incredible ability to sound loose and garage like yet with excellent precision. They are so good live.

agreed .. Transference was fine and all, but after Ga Ga, it fell a little flattragabigzanda wrote:bodysnatcher wrote:i really liked their most recent, Hot Thoughts
I'd probably rank the 3 after Ga Ga Ga as:
Hot Thoughts
They Want My Soul
TransferenceI remember now that I did spin Transference a couple times when it came out. It was fine, but it mostly made me want to listen to their older stuff. I will check out Hot Thoughts at my kitchen this week.
