Terribly sad and shocking. The fragility of life is so brutal sometimes.
RIP Taylor

Anytime someone from one of my childhood favorite bands goes, it cuts a little deeper. So many of them gone now. RIP Taylor :(

Was never really a fan of Foo Fighters but this is very sad news. Way too many people dying too young lately!

I have been wondering what happened to the upcoming album Matt Cameron was going to release with Buzz and Taylor Hawkins. He released the single Down the middle back in April 2020.

ugh this is shocking. the guy seems to be universally loved and always happy performing. 'down to earth' gets said a lot, but hawkins looked like he understood how lucky he was to be doing what he was doing for a living. obviously feel terrible for the band and crew, but i really feel bad for dave grohl. i wouldn't blame him for retiring and disappearing from public life.

I imagine this is the end of the Foos. I can see them doing the occasional cameo performance - maybe even a show - but I cannot see Dave doing this without Taylor.

Man. Two of Dave’s bands. Two of the biggest bands in the world. Ripped away from him. Terribly sad.

I hope they continue on for Dave’s sake. Even though I’m not a big foo fan I’m absolutely a dave fan. Feel for him.

Yeah this is quite shocking. Was just remembering how happy him and Dave sounded on Howard a month or so ago. WAY too young. Not a huge Foo fan myself but have always respective them as top tier performers. All seem to be a great group of guys, making this situation all the more devastating. Heart goes out to this family and friends.

Their first few albums were big for me. RIP, Taylor.

Same. Is it correct that Taylor doesn't appear on a studio album until There Is Nothing Left to Lose?

Listened to them a lot from 99 and into the early 2000s. The best period imo.

I have a weirdly vivid memory of his segment on MTV Cribs, where Chad Smith was also randomly at his house

Bogota municipal government issued a statement Friday night confirming that the city’s emergency services received a call about a patient complaining of “chest pain,” the Associated Press reports. Ambulances were sent to the Four Seasons Casa Medina hotel, where the band was staying, but health workers “carried out resuscitation maneuvers” on Hawkins but “the patient was declared dead,” Bogotá’s Secretary of Health tweeted Saturday morning.
