Yeah, some places in NYC tried them out for a hot minute back in the day, like pre-Covid. I'm sure there are some that still have them? But I haven't seen or used a paper straw in New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, New Mexico, Kentucky, Indiana, or California in at least 2 years.
That is surprising. Impossible to find a plastic straws here, and a plastic bag costs $1.
I will ship you plastic straws and bags for a nominal fee!

Dude, you have repeatedly asserted that Trump was able to win in part based on “manufactured problems”. All I am doing is asking what those are. I’m not insulting you as a person or poster, just asking the question because it seems to be a recurring theme
That's not true and I think you know it. I never asserted he won in part based in manufactured problems, I said he manufacturers problems so he can offer easy solutions.
And as you've shown today, it doesn't matter what I say, you think I'm wrong and you always will. You say you're a normie and moderate. That's disingenuous at best. And you know it. Just be you. Be honest. Burt is insane but at least he's authentic.
This is probably the last time I'll respond to one of your political posts. You refuse to operate in good faith and just like your right wing friends you try to turn that against me. I'm not interested in that. It's insulting and boring and it's pointless to fight against. Because you've designed a structure in which you always win.
Have a great day, warrior.

Imagine that!
What works for them, doesn't work for others. It's an ethic at this point. Party of pretzel hypocrites.

More accurate to say he manufactures problems so he can outright say “look, I fixed the problem when no one else could.”

Wild to me that normie moderates think Trump is an insane sociopath but still support and defend JD Vance and the GOP agenda. What a weird thing when Trump is literally the GOP. But, hey! we live in strange times. And everyone is entitled to their own "opinion."
But I have to be honest... those people, in my life, feel like people who want to have it both ways. Which is way more dangerous and disgusting than those that commit.

Finally? There have literally been zero hires that aren't DEI.

More accurate to say he manufactures problems so he can outright say “look, I fixed the problem when no one else could.”
Absolutely right.
But another important part of the game is that lib/dems are hard at work grandstanding about the "ethics" of the manufactured problems instead of focusing on that fact that it's a manufactured problem in the first place. Which then validates the manufactured problems in the eyes of righties and moderates who are either taking advantage of that or aren't bright enough to see it. Which is clearly more than half of the voting base. And pointing this out is a good way to get attacked by both sides, as my posting history in the last few weeks of this thread demonstrates. Two sides of the same coin. And that's how we got a dangerously amoral con-man as president and as Jesus's personal representative for a second time.
I see the same "neener neener, facts and fallacies are both subjective opinions" thing going on everywhere, not just with politics. So you can't have constructive discussions about anything anymore, and knowledge and tangible evidence means absolutely nothing. It's a symptom of the times sadly. Troll culture. And most are either in on it or fooled by it.

I’m professionally downstream from a lot of this stuff. Some Federal orgs are pausing dispursements, or extending application deadlines; others are saying “everything is normal, just address DEI in your application since that’s what Congress told us to do when our program was appropriated.” I think it comes down to each agency has leeway to interpret the order, and the lay of the land, at the discretion of their leadership. We’ll see how long that lasts.
One week update: This shit is wreaking havoc on my professional and personal community. So far our household is not directly impacted but I won’t be surprised if that changes.
Im sorry trag.

Look. The people have spoken. They’ve decided they want this. We gave democracy a go. It doesn’t work anymore. We’ll have a decade or two of the narcissist authoritarian megalomaniac and his heirs/family in power, then people will have enough of that, and there’ll be a bit of an unseemly armed uprising against them, and the despot heir of the day and his cronies will be hanged on the steps of the capitol. Then we’ll start again.
Just stock up on tinned goods and learn how to grow food and raise chickens or livestock on the mean time.
It’ll all work out in the end.

Why not withdraw Obama’s access? All former presidents have full access to all updates and regular security briefs no?

Tuberculosis, now measles, and bird flu.
It’ll be the laughing virus next (a town caught a virus and its main effect was the entire towns people laughing uncountable and then dying. This will likely only affect Dem counties in the current context)
A measles outbreak is growing in a rural area of West Texas where vaccination rates are well below the recommended level.
