yeah, thats probably the best thing about this song, that is not an awful tearjerker ballad like Future Days and The Haves but im sure itll be number 3 in ¨songs eddie should only sing to his family¨
This one is Eddie’s Tonight You Belong To Me.
Same genre, good melody.
Shouldn’t be on a Pearl Jam album.

Im expecting all the fathers in the house to cry with this one and try to convince everyone who is not a father that ¨you dont get the lyrics because you dont have a daughter¨

I'm almost certain I would've felt something from this song if I had kids.
As it stands, yeah....Really sweet home demo that you record and give to your daughter when she turns 18.
You don't actually release this.

I've been saying this was song #1 post encore break 1 since we first heard what it was about.

I found it on their site lol
Thanks for this (and trying to walk me thru the other way of getting the clip!).

As for the clip...ugh. I mean i kind of new going in this one was likely to be a bottom 2-3 song on the album for me, but it does beg the question...who is picking the songs to put out there prior to album release? Should the goal not be to put something out that will get us excited for the new record? Or do they just not give a shit figuring we're gonna buy this thing either way?

Welp. :?

Someone compared this to Last Kiss, and it's an interesting comparison. I think that version of that song they did is great, it's playful and bittersweet and feels really sad without being weighed down by it. I wonder if that's a pitch they just don't have anymore or if it's the type of song they're better at covering than writing.

This is like Pixar's Coco....When Ed is old and senile, his daughter will play this song for him on guitar and make him cry to remember.

actually that would be the opposite

I was thinking "Ed fought to keep a pop song on a rock record" instead of "Jeff fought to keep a rock song on a pop record"

Ed just wants to play his own song during the daddy/daughter dance at his kids' weddings.

This shit was something Ed and Josh did during the Earthling sessions right?
well, the band does not have any kind of power with these things. I cant imagine the band really wanting this shit to be on the album.

According to RM, Ed is apparently only middle-aged, Val.
