How old are your kids? Have they played these games before? Man, they're in for a treat!

I keep watching people play Overwatch, and I just don't get it. It's just chaos. I want to throw up.

7 and 11. I have an emulator in my wii with a bunch of snes games I'm not sure how many of them they've played before. I don't think the 7 year old has messed with that yet.

I've mentioned this before, but that is one of my biggest issues with emulators. The options are overwhelming. There's something to be said for curated content.

I agree. I think in general kids have too many options now. I remember how special it was when a show or movie came on once a year. Now they have that show or movie whenever they want. Get off my lawn.

This is me with every multiplayer game. It's just not my idea of fun at all, I don't know how people enjoy it.

This is me with most multiplayer games. I don't have the time for microtransactions and loot drops.

I like the "rewards" systems where you have to complete certain tasks to get something new. Battlefield has been especially great at delivering new weapons and abilities for challenging and class-appropriate "Achievements." For example, to get a new sniper rifle, I have to get 20 kills with tripwire bombs, and 50 kills with a gun I'm not too familiar with. It's a great challenge!

And the rewards are typically logical extensions of the hoops they make you jump through: I will definitely be a more fully-equipped scout once I have this new Infantry variant weapon, because I will have learned to refine my run-and-gun skills as a scout.

I don't like most shooters, but Overwatch takes everything I don't like at multiplies it by 10.

I feel like that Player Unknown Battlegrounds might be more my speed.

I do like those. It encourages you to play the game in different ways.

Just got a Wii with emulators, but the lag between pressing a button and the action ruins everything. Any tips?

I can't say I ever noticed a lag....maybe I got lucky on the install.

Somehow I've never played Yoshi's Island before. What an absolute gem.

I enjoy PUBG often. Games usually last anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour. The games are often intense, but slow moving (i.e. exploring buildings for guns, ammo, armor, med, etc.) Then highlighted with brief pants shitting moments of exchanging gun fire, fist fights or frying pan battles.

If you get into it, can we be steam friends? You can play as a duo team. We'll be each other's wingman.

yeah I'll probably get it soon. I suck, but I can be a good bullet shield.

Is it only going to be on Xbox? That's what I heard initially, but would be happy to see it on PS4.

It will eventually come to PS4. Xbox has limited exclusive rights I believe.
