This was worrying, yep. It could be resignation, disappointment, boredom. Or it could something else. It could just be 'I can't talk about it yet.' What's worrying is that we've had fairly bland and nondescript comments from every PJ member plus Brendan O'Brien. Accumulating those has hardly been as exciting as collecting Jurassic Park cards when I was a kid.

I feel like they already have with MYM. Actually I'd rather listen to Big Wave than any of the three LB songs we have heard so far.

Sucks to be you! /Pit response
In all seriousness though, I'm glad I don't feel like that. These three songs aren't duds, even if they're not tremendously exciting. I feel the same about most of S/T and Backspacer, but those songs are such a blight on their respective albums that I can't really enjoy the album as a whole. I'm in the minority here in that I'd rather have a whole album I don't have to skip through than a mediocre album with two or three great songs on it. Backspacer was almost the former. Lightning Bolt might be it.

Not ed, I bet he's real excited.
Or maybe he'll sound the same and then we really won't know what's going on.

I just dont understand the dislike of MYM. It's a very Pearl Jam sounding song. It's in the same vein as Go, Lukin, STBC, etc, but better in some ways.

The reasons that makes one like or dislike a song are a little more complex than "this is a X sounding song, I've liked X before so I'm going to like this too". Vocals, music, delivery, production, lyrics, you know, this kind of stuff.
I happen to not care for Lukin or STBC to begin with but that is beside the point.

Maybe it isn't beside the point? MYM, for all that I like it, is admittedly a rehash of earlier songs in this vein. If you don't even like those songs, you're less likely to enjoy MYM.

Maybe in my own particular case but I'm trying to make an universal statement here.
