Everybody already hates the porgs. If you want to be cool and hip, you should like them.

Could be dialogue in the trailer won't appear on the film. It does all seem rather written for a trailer. To confound and bewilder and spark a billion debates and speculations.

In fact, calling him that now is practically a retcon. I find it far more likely that Luke is just not talking about him in that moment.
I think awesome untrained power/great potential is fair. Everyone fears him, he had that awesome freezing of the blast bolt in his first sequence, and we know he isn't fully trained yet. What makes that so great is the way it is combined with his petulant insecurity and self-image conflicts.

I've watched trailer twice, it's fucking good stuff.

Kylo smashing the helmet - I don't think for one second that he's turning to the light side. I think he's merely smashing up his helmet because he decides he doesn't need it and would rather everyone see his scarred face. In the context of a trailer, it looks like an epic moment but I don't think it will be.

Rey saying she needs to know her place - it looks like one of presumably many cave conversations with Luke on Ahch-to. Nice bit of misdirection by cutting to Kylo holding his hand out, though.

I actually think one of the only parts that isn't misdirection is the the hint that Kylo is about to kill Leia. I reckon that totally happens.

I really hope the focus is mainly on Rey and Kylo Ren, with spinkles of Luke thrown in. The evolution of Rey/Kylo is far more interesting than anything else, to me at least.

People hating on the Porgs already are being ridiculous. We literally have no idea what they'll be doing in the film. Sure, they're for merchandise sales but they look cute enough and I doubt Rian is dumb enough to litter the film with them. Everyone hatin' already

Tickets booked for Force Awakens/Last Jedi double bill!

Yeah seems like the movie will tie Kylo and Rey closer together. Snoke is talking to Kylo about finding him and talking up his raw power. Maybe because the kid needs the confidence. he did just get beat by Rey.

And luke is talking to Rey about her raw power and how it reminds him of Kylo and the attack on his Jedi academy. Which gives him enough reason to be hesitant to train Rey because he failed horribly the last time.

maybe Snoke is able to lure Rey by telling her he can/will tell her who her parents were/are.

Hes smashing the helmet up cos Snoke has just completey berated him for not destroying the resistance fleet and letting them get away/ not being able to fire on leia's ship.

I think the Kylo dialogue in the trailer is probably to Rey..and maybe hers is to him, not Luke..

Luke already had his three films

I'm glad he's in it of course, but I think Rey/Kylo Ren are strong enough characters that they deserve to be the focus.

Hes definitely the big piece in this but mainly for Rey and Kylo to project onto. hes ultimately a vehicle for their stories.

His line 'this isnt going to go how you think' tells me he is super bad ass powerful now although probably reluctant to use it.

is he making it out of this alive though is the thing.
