NESN's state programming style can be grating.

Sure, but it's still better than the sterile presentation of FSN Detroit or CSN Bay Area.

I think when you have one of those networks it's all about who the announcers are.

My biggest beef with NESN is their attempts to create reality programming when I would much rather see some kind of Red Sox or Bruins based content.

I'm talking about game presentation only.

I just can't understand how, after the warning, the same team can throw near the head of the same hitter twice and hit another and not have repercussions.

Yeah, I wasn't watching the game until the later innings but I don't see how the pitcher doesn't get tossed for the Donaldson at bat if there were warnings.

I LOOOOOOOVED that team. I used to sit up listening them on WTMJ all summer long (when the signal was strong enough). That was the year of Robin Yount's ascent to 3,000 hits too. Paul Molitor was my favorite player as a kid (until he left for Toronto). I had his poster on my wall from like 1988-1992. I keep considering buying a Molitor throwback as an act of forgiveness now that I'm older and understand how bad the Crew jobbed him with their offer that offseason.

My favorite memory of that season (it's a twofold one)...September 20th. They were in the middle of a series with Baltimore, and (I think) had just passed them to move into second place. Sunday afternoon game. I was up there with my then-best friend and his sad. Orioles were up 3-0, and then the Brewers erupted for 8 runs in one inning during a comedy of errors. The Packers were playing at the same time. We were listening to them on the drive up, and got to hear Don Majkowski get hurt on the radio. I remember thinking "Great, they might go 0-16 now." Fast-forward a few hours later and a series of increasingly frequent and enthusiastic cheers that were totally unrelated to the Brewers. We finally turned to a guy in our row who was listening to the radio to ask what was going on.

"The Packers are making a comeback."

"Without Majik Man?"

"Yep! This new kid might be good!"

A few minutes later the place goes nuts when Favre throws his game-winning TD pass. The parking lot after that Brewers game was just one huge party, between the Brewers and the Packers. What a fucking fun day. Lots of bad jokes about Julio Machado, too. We were fucking messed up kids, I guess.

It was nice to see Norris dominate yesterday because he seems like a great guy and it was against Baltimore. It was even nicer to see Price dominate today because he's a Toronto Blue Jay.

The crowd was insane today. The whole country has become baseball crazy in the course of a week.

That's a pretty big indictment on The Trop considering he pitched 3 innings of a World Series game there.

And he got the save in game 7 of the ALCS that year, but that was in hostile territory.
