However, DJ himself is not in my top 25 complaints about TLJ.
I would agree that everything that happens with Rose and Finn is useless. But, damn DJ was so horrible.
I think DJ would have figured into the third film if Trevorrrow was still attached, remember the guy wrote a whole movie that disney thought was total shit before they fired him.
What I read is that he wanted to change things in TLJ, and that’s why he was fired. JJ is a team player. He works with what he gets.

Every star wars film has had a part when you wondered why is this in here? I wonder where JJ would have taken episode 8 if he made it.

I think TROS will be JJ’s 8 and 9 in one.

DJ Benicio del Toro (The Last Jedi) Slicer who assists and then betrays Finn and Rose Tico on their mission aboard the First Order flagship Dreadnought Supremacy in The Last Jedi. His name stands for "Don't Join".[84]

We’re getting Anakin in TROS

this guy works on the art for the films. And coordinates the art of books.

Was he ever referred to as DJ or don’t join?

If I remember correctly, he was never called anything by anyone, but he himself said the phrase "don't join".

That’s about what I remembered.

So from that phrase, it becomes his name? Lame.

Rian Johnson is the one that called him DJ (and yes it comes from the don't join, not his birth name).

I woke up slightly giddy with excitement hoping there’d been a trailer last night.

Ah well.
