I wonder how Neil Young was chosen to be the one inducting Tom Waits to the RRHOF. I mean it's kind of weird because based on his old interviews, there was nothing Tom hated more back in the 70's than Crosby, Stills and Nash, or as he called them, Crosby Steals the Cash. And Neil was kind of part of that whole scene. Of course people change, but I just don't see any connection between those two. How about someone like Jim Jarmusch instead.

Spotify must have changed their algorithm because they are suddenly recommending a lot of good stuff lately.

Maybe Tom just wanted a fellow Son of Lee Marvin and Jarmusch wasn’t available.

Control thru Velvet Rope is pretty stellar. I know a lot of it was ability or lack there of but I really enjoy her understated delivery. Welcome relief compared to a lot of the her power vocal contemporaries and everyone that was inspired by them. She never over sang.

I'd like to buy you a beer, bada. If you're ever in NYC look me up. And don't let other RMers detour you. They are assholes who don't understand (or they are wease who has bad timing). I'll 100% make time for you.

I went to an event tonight where they blasted The Cure's Disintegration through these giant high-tech speakers (which were supposed to use some super advanced technology but they just sounded like really good speakers to me) at a packed theater in total darkness. It was a good reminder of how much I love that album. The title track is massive.

Funny how Root Down sounds like a more fitting tribute to NYC than anything on TT5B
