That is going to be a ton of work. Just tell them I'll buy the records for $100 for the collection and save everyone some time.

Agree with everyone above, and when you scan the collection, get a sense of the decades that are well represented. If it’s mostly ‘70s and ‘80s records, they are probably worth pennies. Older than that, if they are in good condition, maybe worth a bit more? Depends on the genre I suppose.

Thanks guys, I will take that good advice into consideration.

Alternatively, the long route is within my bandwidth at the moment and could be the catalyst to a creative blogging adventure. I could see myself working through this collection, 25-50 titles a week and writing something about it. If it gets to be a slog, y'all have given me a great off ramp.

My dad always gives me an Amazon card for my birthday, and I sit on it all year until the summer's over just in case I gotta have something, but if it makes it to September. I buy a bunch of records.

I was out for lunch with my wife and daughter for Father's Day today and wandered past a small record store so stepped in to ask if the new Nick Cave was in. Proceeded to get lectured for 2 fully uncomfortable minutes about how "things aren't like they used to be and I can't expect physical albums to be available actually on or around release date anymore".

Weird interaction.

 The picture on Amazon made it look like there was a working zipper, but there was not.

Oh man, I can see that happening to me. I hate when people that I am paying lecture me on how I should start accommodating their shortcomings.

I posted about getting shitty service from a comic book store a year or two back. Your entire store is a hair's breath away from being replaced by Amazon. Can you at least give me the kind, friendly service that Amazon can't give? Maybe I'll stick around for one more purchase.
