Felt like some popcorn junk, so I rewatched Deep Blue Sea and Lake Placid. Utterly weightless, of course, but lots of fun. We need some R-rated, decently-budgeted monster movies again.

Finally saw Nebraska. Most of it was filmed about an hour from my hometown. I enjoyed many of the little things and remarks throughout. The choice of black and white was odd though.

Me too. That area of the Midwest balances the line between beautiful and depressingly sparse so well. I wanted the full color treatment.

A color version exists and was recently aired on TV. I forget which channel, I think it was EPIX or something.

I didn't get the beauty with the black and white. Just sparse drabness. Agree to disagree I suppose.
