you can tease every album from the single after the fact, I think, but it would be hard to predict how the record will sound from the single. Maybe this one will be an exception, but even then we wont know until the record itself.

I have always been surprised about the album after having heard the single, personally.

There have been samplers for Riot Act, ST and Backspacer. The ST one just happened to leak.

Samplers are common. They are sent to journalists to give them an impression of an album and write a preview. It's a way of building hype.

Man, i don't think i would know what to do if they played a show that was only an hour from my house, I've never seen a show from the john Paul Jones arena in charlottesville va, but now Im hopefully the will play there

Im guessing its more than a single, I bet its at least 3 songs we will get plus the tour dates..If we dont get any new music ill be so dissapointed....

5 rumoured titles of album
2songs from "pearl jam" album being re-recorded for new album (of the earth/cold concessions)
1 Rumour of uke song recorded by full band(sleeping by myself) on new album
1 rumour of double album

dont wanna put a damper on all the fun, but i just got the bad news i have been hoping wouldnt come, and will be hitting the road probably in a couple of hours and wont be back on much the rest of the day aside from maybe late this evening or here and there before i hit the road. hope you guys all have a great time today and i hope for all of us we get some great info this afternoon. have a great day

I don't know, I kind of feel that, at the very least, their singles are fairly representative of their albums, certainly in the 2000's. The biggest gap between single and album feel was probably that I Am Mine was more accessible than most of Riot Act, but even that one had the more muted, weathered Ed voice, the warm feel of the production, etc. WWS, Fixer, NAIS, they all seem to have a lot of the things the band was concentrating on in the records they came from.

Yeah, I think we'll have a pretty good idea of where the album is heading once this single drops.
