I think it is next week.
Huh. So it is.

jimmy mac wrote:I always liked Backspacer, but after a week with this new record I kind of feel like it's ruined Backspacer for me. If that makes any sense. I listened to that thing straight through easily 100 times (I take a lot of car rides that a full listen fits perfectly into) and LB somehow makes that album seem irrelevant. Maybe it's that new car smell/dating someone new and exciting thing I have going.
i know this was pages ago, but i saw the post, and i get it. this album sounds a lot like backspacer, but better.

I've been listening to Godspeed for a while. Now I'm trying Lightning Bolt again.

I'm very surprised that this album is holding up so well after listening to Godspeed all day.

I think I was expecting a little too much of it. And I still think its a better album than Bacspacer (isn't better than Avocado, though). But I don't know. I cant get into My Fathers Son, cant stand Swalloed Whole, and Lightning Bolt is a really huge "meh..." For me. Still love MYM, Sirens, Infalible, Pendulum and Yellow Moon. And really like LTRP. Getaway is one I already am tired (listened too much on the first leak). Future Days turned out as "okay" for me.

Which one of you psychos bought all the copies at my local Target? I didn't expect to have any roadblocks in picking up this album.

I think it's better than Avocado. I'm not an Avocado hater, but this is more in my wheelhouse.

i like avocado more than most people here, but i think LB may be better. honestly, im just super impressed with this album. there's still the rockers that everyone knows pearl jam for, this album is kinda all over the place. maybe thats why i like it so much. its like Vs., but by a bunch of 40 something year olds.

Avocados highs are higher but this is a far more satisfying listen from start to finish

Can any of you guitar aficionados let me know if the chords are similar to the ones in Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here?

I love this album, but I've had it long enough to know it wont be album of the year for me. I actually like it better than the new Sigur Ros album, though (which is shocking to me).

I never even thought it would be in the running before it was released so that says something for this album, for me.

I think I like derivative poppy Pearl Jam better than derivative agressive Pearl Jam.
LB > ST

there's nothing on Avocado that touches Pendulum. its the best song they've written in maybe 15 years.
