I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

bune's joke was an obvious Scientology joke though?
making fun of how old she looks simultaneously.. it's hilarious

Her age was the setup, not the punchline. The punchline was that Scientologists are insane.
yeah, sure... but if there weren't something "wrong" with her it wouldn't be funny or make sense

tragabigzanda wrote:He never intimated there was anything wrong with her. Bada posted the meme about her apparent physical changes next to Cruise's seeming agelessness. The joke isn't that she's old; it's that he's different from everyone else by virtue of his money and value system. If you look at Bada's post and think "Wow she's funny," I think it says more about your worldview than it does the joke maker's intention...

Bune's followup was an obvious play on Cruise's weird devotion to Scientology. Why is this even a little difficult for you guys to understand?
We understand completely. We don't think there's anything funny about her. We think it's funny how old she looks compared to Cruise. If she looked exactly like Cruise or better the joke wouldn't make any sense or be funny.

tragabigzanda wrote:But the same would apply if Cruise looked as old as she did.

I'm about to smash my computer. Enjoy your afternoon, RM.
No. If Cruise looked as old as she did the joke would be more like "I guess those thetans aren't working out for anyone!"
