Oh man I feel the same way. I'm pretty stoked, I just hope I am not setting myself up for big disappointment.southp wrote:Who would've thought that a countdown clock would have me so excited!?
I'm a fuckin' 36 year old man and I'm anxiously waiting for unknown news from a rock band I liked as a teenager.
Well, maybe the Ten Club constantly treating everyone like a child makes them think that they're actually younger than they really are.southp wrote:I'm a fuckin' 36 year old man and I'm anxiously waiting for unknown news from a rock band I liked as a teenager.
Nothing has been confirmed. Just speculation.Rob wrote:Wasn't the single already confirmed to be coming out on July 16? Why do people think we get it today? (I'm not doubting it, I just haven't kept up).
All I really expect today is an album title and release date, and the tour schedule. I'd consider the actual single and tracklisting to be a bonus.

I was referring to any album/song "facts".southp wrote:Thejambi wrote:Nothing has been confirmed. Just speculation.Rob wrote:Wasn't the single already confirmed to be coming out on July 16? Why do people think we get it today? (I'm not doubting it, I just haven't kept up).

oh, sure, and I think you can just as easily read No Code out of Who You Are, or Yield out of Given To Fly. But I think it's not until after you have the album that you can really tell what aspects of the song are unique to the song itself, and what speaks to the larger context of the album.digster wrote:I don't know, I kind of feel that, at the very least, their singles are fairly representative of their albums, certainly in the 2000's. The biggest gap between single and album feel was probably that I Am Mine was more accessible than most of Riot Act, but even that one had the more muted, weathered Ed voice, the warm feel of the production, etc. WWS, Fixer, NAIS, they all seem to have a lot of the things the band was concentrating on in the records they came from.stip wrote:you can tease every album from the single after the fact, I think, but it would be hard to predict how the record will sound from the single. Maybe this one will be an exception, but even then we wont know until the record itself.
usually it's just a "tweet" a few days ahead of time saying an announcement is coming.melonhead4 wrote:We have to be getting some sort of new music today, when have they ever done a countdown clock?
why don't you just post "told you so" instead? less typing effort on your part.lecherouslittlestump wrote:You better mind your manners boy

The 10C site manager just figured how to embed it.melonhead4 wrote:We have to be getting some sort of new music today, when have they ever done a countdown clock?
