I enjoyed the game a lot. This was my second time through (first was on the Wii U) and first time with DLC. I just hate the old, “Oh, it’s 30 hours to beat but 90 hours of game play. Get those numbers closer together in a meaningful way. If I’ve finished the game, what is my motivation for showing that twat in Hateno Village a frost spear? Rupees? Get fucked. And when the reward in the dlc is that cool ass bike, that’s even worse. Sure would have loved a chance to earn that shortly after I left the Great Plateau.

What’s the latest on the sequel? 2020 must be out at this point. Same engine, I assume. Same map? Will Zelda herself finally be a playable character?

Rumors are it will be the same map.

Yeah the DLC was some nice added content, but i wish it came with a disclaimer to push people to start using it right away. We didn't buy it until we were 2/3 through the game thinking it would pad the play time...turns out most of the stuff isn't all that useful late game. Like sure a new outfit is cool but if it's a lvl 3 armor that can't be upgraded that's kinda useless to me. I tried doing the master sword thing and made it to the final boss of the 2nd round (i think there were 3 rounds total?) and died. That was a couple of hours of effort i didn't feel like repeating again.

The pre COVID release rumor was Feb. 2021. Now I'm guessing early summer at the earliest. You were able to play as Zelda in Phantom Hourglass (sort of).

I can see a portion of the BotW map being available.

Voice acting is complete. Not that there is a tremendous amount of dialogue, but still a great sign! Maybe February 2021 after all!

Nintendo filed some new Zelda trademarks. And they aren't tied to the BotW sequel.

February 21, 2021. That's the old rumor. Remember it's a Nintendo + Monolith development arrangement. That's a lot of top notch talent. It could still happen.

It is certainly Nintendo's style to release a game just a few months after a big reveal (not counting the initial trailer). It would also sell a ton of copies.
